Women's Book Study

The Tuesday night Women’s Book Club is being restructured, due to time conflicts. It looks as if we will be meeting on Tuesday mornings after prayers but the time and start date have not been confirmed.

Our plan is to join our Sisterhood in the Antiochian Archdiocese to read “Becoming a Healing Presence” by Albert S. Rossi, PhD., which is the AWONA Book Club pick for 2017-2018. The book is available from Ancient Faith, SVS Press and Amazon.

Please stay tuned for the Tuesday morning Book Club start date.

Igniting The Flame Stewardship

Christ is in our midst!

October 20, 2017
Artemus the Great Martyr of Antioch

Dear Fathers, brothers and sisters in Christ,

I was greatly encouraged by both the presentations given by Bill Marianes this past weekend as well as by the open, loving, honest response of those of us here at Saints Peter and Paul.

As a preliminary first step to continue adding to the good fruit from last weekend, we will be having a time of follow up Saturday after Vespers at 7:00 pm in which you can share what you heard from the presentations and what you believe should be our priority.

Some light snacks will be provided, if you want to contribute please contact Khoriyeh Mandy at (858) 442-9039

Here are a few ideas of how you can be involved:

  1.  Review Bill’s handouts and your own notes to digest as much as possible.

As you read through the notes prayerfully consider what you can glean from the talk considering:

  1. Personal spiritual growth
  2. Some things that you could apply to a ministry that you are involved in
  3. Things that you would like to utilize or apply in the Church
  4.  And then spend some time specifically in prayer about what your role might be in implementing the changes that  you want to see
  5.  Have faith that we are called to collaborate successfully for God's glory.
  6.  As we move forward in our discussions, do so patiently, lovingly, honestly, and steadfastly; considering just how we can best start to work for change, both internally in our own spiritual lives and externally in our interactions and efforts with others.
  7.  Pray, pray, pray…

Thank you all!  The harvest is ripe, I thank God for your willingness to be workers in the fields of the Lord.

Love in Christ,   Fr Nathan

James the Brother of the Lord (October 23)

Since thou art a Disciple of the Lord, thou didst receive the Gospel, O righteous one, and since thou art a Martyr thou art never rejected, and since thou art a brother of God, thou art privileged, and since thou art a High Priest, it is thine to intercede. Wherefore, beseech thou Christ God to save our souls. (Apolytikion in Tone 4)
